What is RNtrailguide.com?
Hello! I am Trisha Fronczek and welcome to RN Trail Guide!
What is RN Trail Guide you ask? Well, RN Trail Guide has been started to help nurses of all levels along their nursing journey. Whether you are just starting out or thinking about retirement, we all could use a little guidance on and off the trail. We all have a lot to learn from each other and I can’t wait to share in the journey together.
Who is behind RNtrailguide.com?
I am Trisha and have been a RN for 16 years. My nursing journey began in 2nd grade when my mom made me a nurse Halloween Costume complete with a bandaged Cabbage Patch Kid. When I figured out you could intertwine my love of dolls with a possible career, then nursing had me.
When selecting my first new graduate job, I panicked as I was offered Labor Delivery jobs (my first choice) and somehow thought being a Cardio Thoracic ICU (CTICU) nurse fit my bill more. I did love it. It was challenging, rewarding, and super stressful. After I worked in 3 medical center’s CTICUs, I transitioned into a Clinical Educator role. My role varied over 8 years but involved schools of nursing, nursing students, new graduate nurses, grant programs for master’s degrees, new products, course development, council work, EBP development, Magnet journey and other duties as assigned.
After the birth of our daughter, my husband and I found ourselves back in Pennsylvania. Over the last 6 years, I have taught NCLEX review courses, consulted for a new graduate residency program, and gone back to the bedside as an ICU nurse at a local community hospital. With my consulting work, I have even begun my own company, Trail Run, LLC. I never thought being a nurse boss was on my journey, but here it is along with my blog that you are visiting now!
So, there you have it. I am a nursing student, ICU nurse, nurse educator, NCLEX expert, consultant, business owner mixed in with a wife, friend, mother, daughter, and sister. I think my journey as a nurse blogger is waiting to begin…so why don’t you join me on this incredibly journey! Let’s hit the trail!
